Dramawalker Poblenou

Dramawalker is a project that aims to create geolocated audio stories, as a form of living memory for cities, and is promoted by the Centro Dramático Nacional in collaboration with the Sala Beckett, Groupo Chévere and the Centro Dramático Galego (Xunta de Galicia). The stories told by the neighbourhoods’ residents serve as raw materials for the programme. A series of audio stories have been produced through meetings with the programme’s dramaturgs, which come alive – interactively – when people walk through the streets featuring in the stories.

In Barcelona, the project is in the Poblenou neighbourhood. Dramawalker Poblenou wants to bring us closer to the stories of residents in this neighbourhood, where the industrial past and established associative networks coexist harmoniously with avant-garde cultural and artistic projects. Through a participatory process, creators Roc Esquius, Sílvia Navarro, Oriol Puig, Mercè Sarrias and Joan Yago have delved into the memory of the neighbourhood and its residents, reconstructing the stories hidden in its streets.
