Synopsis

With this play about resistance, Brazilian director Christiane Jatahy, winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Theatre Biennale this summer, closes her trilogy on violence. After presenting Entre chien et loup a year ago, her adaptation of Lars Von Trier’s Dogville, Jatahy analyses how racism and capitalism are intertwined. From the slave trade to Bolsonaro. Based on the award-winning novel Torto Aradoby Itamar Vieira Junior, the female protagonists are committed to fighting the world’s order and for an opportunity for change. History of unresolved colonial violence, in Depois do silêncio(After the Silence). Jatahy once again blends two art forms, theatre and film, to superimpose reality and fiction.
