Tamara Gutiérrez (Santander, 1993) is a playwright and researcher. She holds a degree in Philosophy from Universidad Complutense, a degree in Dramaturgy from RESAD, a Master’s degree in Cultural Theory and Criticism from Universidad Carlos III, and a degree in Holocaust Studies from University of Haifa. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Comparative Literature at Bar-Ilan University, where she was awarded an Excellence Scholarship for pre-doctoral students.
Her work as a playwright includes La boda entre dos maridos (premiered in the off-section of the International Festival of Classical Theatre in Almagro, 2016), La jauría del silencio (published in Fundamentos, 2016), Wish You Were Here (finalist of the “Agustín González” award, 2017), and Galerna.
In 2018 she was selected for the VII Programa de Desarrollo de Dramaturgias Actuales, where she wrote Historia de un monstruo. In 2019, she received a scholarship for theatre professionals from the Comunidad de Madrid to develop her first text dedicated to childhood: Mis zapatos en Praga.
