Sara García Pereda (Madrid, 1994) is a playwright and translator. She has a degree in Playwriting from RESAD and an MFA in Playwriting from Edinburgh Napier University. Her short works include Ephemera, performed by Joven Compañía at ELLAS CREAN festival 2016; The Wolf (Roxy Assembly, 2019), which Collectif Scope produced as a short film; and Crossing Care (EH5 Space, 2020), created with Kirin Saeed with the support of Creative Inclusion Fund Scotland.
She participated in the Dramaturgia Emergente collection of Esperpento Ediciones Teatrales with Aire Siempre de Viaje (El Umbral de Primavera, 2017). In 2019, she received a scholarship from the 8th INAEM Development Programme for Contemporary Dramaturgies, for which she wrote Pas Petite, her first text dedicated to children.
She recently received an Extraordinary Grant for the Promotion of International Literary Authors’ Mobility from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan to translate After Independence by May Sumbwanyambe, with the support of Playwrights’ Studio Scotland.
